Half Marathon
A Coastal Course Built for Speed
Flat, fast, and unforgettable—the Smuttynose Rockfest Half Marathon delivers one of the most scenic race experiences in New England. With just 60 feet of elevation gain, this USATF-certified course is designed for personal bests and powered by nonstop ocean views and crowd energy.
Course Description
The race kicks off on Ocean Boulevard in the heart of Hampton Beach, where crowds line the streets and the energy is sky-high. You’ll head north along the coastline with the Atlantic right beside you—sea breeze, big views, and nonstop cheers carrying you through the early miles.
Then it’s a quick shift inland for a smooth, shaded loop through quiet, tree-lined roads—your chance to lock into pace before heading back to the beach around mile 10. From there, it’s all vibes: a fast, flat three-mile stretch along Ocean Boulevard straight to the finish.
You’ll cross the line at the iconic Sea Shell Stage with music, crowds, and the Rockfest party waiting. The USATF-certified course is clearly marked with mile markers and signage throughout, plus race marshals and police support—so you can focus on running strong and enjoying every step. Spectators can catch the action at the Start, Mile 2, Mile 5, and the Finish.
